No defense of Andrew Suh

The hypocrisy of the moron is glaring. He decided Robert killed his mother despite not really knowing if he had or not, he conveniently ignores his sister apparently knew and covered for Robert. Yet we're supposed to feel sympathy for him? I'm sorry, he's an idiot.

You bring up some strong points about this story that had never occurred to me. He only had his sister's story that Robert killed the mom, and never bothered to check it out any further. Certainly he could've just confronted Robert to check out his reaction before deciding to kill him. It also doesn't make sense that the sister would've lived with the murderer of her own mom for a number of years, before telling the brother, or anyone else about it. You are wrong on one point though. The brother is not a hypocrite. He's just incredibly gullible, and that has nothing to do with being brought up in a Korean home.

I think that's easy to say when you're not in the situation. First of all, he was a teenager, which doesn't excuse what he did, but does explain his dependence on his sister. His sister is also all he has left, so I can see him transferring the blame just to Robert, even if that doesn't make logical sense from the outside.

If he sees Robert as the outsider who came into his home and ruined everything, the tunnel vision of revenge makes sense. He hated his sister too, but that's still his only family, so honor would make him forgive her. I don't think it's an excuse, but It's the story that makes the most sense.
