The only real similarity is the line where his friend calls Monroe an 'emotional cripple.' (And, imo, House was, Monroe not so much.)

Sorry there weren't more than 6 episodes.

Wrong! Yey, new series are here yet again - And I love it!

House? No, this is more real than arrogant and posh push up for the world of masses ... And Mr.Nesbitt is a really good actor.

The realism,less emphasis on diagnosis and no drug issues are key differences. An even more favorable difference is I don't ff thru the secondary cast member scenes. I did marvel at House's rude behavior. What an as#=/le was my mantra while enjoying his dismissive,demeaning put downs. Monroe doesn't spark that reaction.
