SyFy means crap.......is that redundant?

Kind of like committing suicide in Kansas?

Apart from the occasional one hour series, the syfy channel is gaining a reputation of airing one crappy movie after another, and this from a self confessed science fiction junkie.

Home today with the flu, I sat through 8 hours, 4 movies, each only slightly better than a 2.2 or 2.3 IMDB rating. By far the best of the 4 movies was "splinters." If you are tempted to give sfyy a try, skip this turd and give splinters a watch.

The funds earmarked for CGI.

Biggest problem with syfy channel movies (apart from the obviously terrible movies) is compared to what we see in other venues, these look like film student projects. I went to USC med school, and the film department, has an eye popping list of grads and faculty. Even as students, there would be an obvious difference between your run of the mill syfy flick, and something by writer or director destined for (forgive the metaphor) major leagues of filmdom.

Logical question......why do you watch? I'm a science fiction junkie, and most nights, this is the only game in town.

So as a fan, my request is to the suits of the sci-fi, sorry...syfy channel please give us better movies.
