Hardly a "drama" in this case, given that Isherwood was very similar in appearance and mien to the portrayal offered by Matt Smith, certainly closer to reality than Michael York's performance. You, dear OP, imply that you think Christopher & His Kind is a fiction concocted by Kevin Elyot. Perhaps you should read Isherwood's autobiography of the same name to put yourself to rights. And in my experience Cambridge was and likely still is, richly populated by thoughtful, sporty, talented, handsome, even hunky, young gay men, and in my day and in all the years since never have I encountered a "drippy" one among them, including the boys with "floppy-hair". And Isherwood left behind a marvellous body of work, not least A Single Man, A Meeting by the River and Down There On A Visit, all of which I would rather read again and again than the latest opus by dull and predictable heterosexuals like Martin Amis or Ian McEwan.
