Does anybody know if this is coming to the US?

Does anybody know if this is going to be shown in America, either BBC America or PBS?

If you're American and you want to watch it, the entire thing is on YouTube. I just got done with watching it there.

Thank you. I have passed this info on to others who will be interested.

Because I cannot bear sitting at a PC terminal and watching any YouTube longer than 15-20 minutes, I was glad to catch it late night on BBC-TV, which is on cable here. The movie is quite good. It is the first time that Isherwood's Berlin experiences -- other than as depicted in "I Am a Camera" and "Cabaret" -- have been honestly, I daresay daringly, portrayed in a film. There are even nude same sex scenes, including light S&M. I applaud the effort. Douglas Booth plays one of Christopher's lovers and he is something else, a real treat for the eyes. Looking forward to seeing him in the new "Romeo and Juliet."

it's listed as coming soon in my Netflix queue. Amazon has the release date in the U.S. as June 28, 2011.

If you will be in San Francisco, it will be the closing night film at Frameline (gay film festival in its 35th year), June 26 at the Castro Theater. I saw it at the press screening -- was very well done . . .

It was shown as the LA Film Festival this past week. During the Q&A afterwards, the director said there was no US distributor for the film. Since the production is a BBC TV movie, it wasn't intended to be released in theaters. Perhaps it will be on Netflix in the future.
I thought it was excellent although it does have some of the shortcomings of TV films. It was mentioned that Dan Bachardy (Isherwood's long time partner) attended one of the screening and said he liked the film.

As perhaps everyone knows by now, in the US, this film went straight to DVD. As of mid-July 2011, it was available on DVD for sale, and it was also available on Netflix.
