An inferior remake of 'Cabaret'

This is an unforgivable use of British taxpayers' money. The BBC could have re-screened 'Cabaret' rather than splurge on this inferior remake.

It does contain about ten minutes worth of new material but that has already been hashed and rehashed through Isherwood's opportunist self-serving imagination.

You do realize this is not a remake, right? Cabaret was a fictionalized version of Isherwood's time in Berlin. This is what really happened.

Well said Rex!

I appreciated this "honest" and "true" version of Isherwood's experiences.

"Cabaret" is a much more dynamic movie - but it, of course, is the "Hollywood" version of Isherwood's writings.

Both have their merits.

I think they should be shown in tandem, in order to convey both the life-experience of the author and also the entertainment value of his writings.

"Don't call me 'mac'... HONEY!"

The first Cabaret had Michael York and his freakish nose.
This remake has some nondescript with freakish forehead.

It's dingy, dreary and redundant, I tell you!

Beautifully-shot film

Cabaret was a film based on the musical play, loosely inspired by Isherwood's writing.

It's that man again!!
