Did the narration fool anyone besides me? SPOILERS

Paul's voice-over opens and closes this story and certainly in the opening, his choice of words appear remorseful. He seems to regret the decisions he feels he's been forced to make, which suggests failure. As the tale enfolds further, I assumed he was going to get caught. Of course, with his sick mother and a foreclosure threatening, I didn't want that to happen. He's much less likable by the end of the film but DOES get away with it! I felt like a fish on a line being slowly reeled in...I couldn't object because it isn't often a movie takes me by surprise. Did anyone else anticipate a different ending?

Even up until the last second of the film, I thought he was gonna get caught somehow! Even after the credits I waited to see haha
I liked the movie though! Because even though what he did was terrible, he was still a likeable character in my opinion!
Or at least a cutie!
