Anyone else find it VERY annoying 'music'.

The loud 'music' (noise) that harps in every few seconds is very obtrusive...

Yes, I hated the score. It should enhance, not distract.

The worst ever, this movie deserves to crash and burn! It was so depressing and even for its time represented, the treatment of a gay was ridiculous, the Catholicism was on the mark with how they behaved then though!

As a gay man I can assure you that kind of treatment of gay people--especially of gay kids--does still go on today.

I just saw it and came to the boards to say exactly this. That wasn't music. It was noise that was to the point of painful in some of the scenes. Whatever they were going for, they missed.

I liked the film, I just think it needs to be recut with better a better, less intrusive score.

That's Steve Reich music, and I was surprised when it began playing, I'm a big fan! :-)

It's funny that it was so distracting for others, I did not find it distracting at all. The use of the bells (or whatever they were) that was overt was almost like the turning of a page/end of a chapter. They seemed to be lines of demarcation that helps us recognize we're on a journey bigger than that which we might be comfortable. While they were obviously more overt, I thought they delivered a surreal quality that heightened my senses and pulled me into a larger narrative.

YES the score was so god damn annoying I started swearing at it.

Personally, I liked the music. It was moody and unnerving (in a good way). It had an academic and solitary feel that complimented the main character in the film.

It's Steve Reich's "Electric Counterpoint" ... the full recording is gorgeous (the recording I'm familiar with was performed by Pat Metheny).

The movie was quirky and the music fit well, and I liked it.
I am a big fan of C.O.G.
