What color do you think of when you think of Sci-Fi?

I know this is a bit random, but I want to know if I'm alone or not here. Whenever I think of the Science Fiction genre I associate it with the color green. Or green with an tinge of blue. Does anyone else associate colors with movie genres, or am I just weird? :D

 Yeah, a bit random, but I do actually associate a color with certain genres. With sci-fi it's sort of a royal blue. Not sure why that is exactly...

There is not such a thing as a color for an entire genre. When I think of Kubrick's Space Odyssey I think of black. When I think of Nolan's Inception I think of blue. When I think of Alien I think of dark green. When I think of Spieberg's War of the Worlds I think of grey. When I think of District 9 I think of sepia. To some movies I can't even find a color, like Blade Runner.

Different color for every movie. If I would say that I think of blue when I think of Sci-Fi, it would be a deception, because my brain remembered the first movie of this genre which came in my mind, and then interprete it as a color for an entire genre. But it's untrue.

Nolan, I love you forever!

Yeah, I have different color associations for different films. But as a whole I can usually associate just one color with a film genre, generally speaking. When I think of Sci-Fi, I think of a combination of key Sci-Fi films and what the strongest color is, which in my case is green.

Very dark blue/black, like the night sky.

Neat question!

I think of a neon or electric blue. I'm not sure why. Maybe a lot of sci-fi scenes have been shot in that color.

Blue, dark blue, dark grey, neon blue, black. In short, blue. Many sci-fi movie posters with the color blue immediately come to mind.

Green? Even knowing there’s beloved films such as Soylent Green and THX 1138, that’s one of the last colors I associate sci-fi with. Come to think of it, it’s not. A green tint (like in The Matrix and Blade Runner-one of the cuts anyway) has been utilized in several films in the genre. But usually, it’s black and blue colors that scream science fiction to me.

Black for me, like outer space, the unknown

My first thought was to think of 'Blue' no idea why was just he first colour that sprang to mind, maybe because a lot of posters of this genre have blue in them and this film does on the poster with the blue light so maybe influenced my answer.

Out of interest was this a question in this film 'Super 8' i cant remember if it was?
If not just wondered why you asked it in this particular films thread.
