.I'm watching this on LMN now, and I'm finding it enjoyable, a nice break from the seriously dark movies I usually watch. I like the way Kathleen Turner looks now. Different, yes, but still good, just in a different way. And she is still a wonderful actress and has that marvelous voice. I watched the Monsignor, and watched, and watched, .... and finally came here to IMBd. Because I thought that Richard Chamberlain was dead. I'm glad to see I was wrong.

When my husband and brothers and I were discussing the movie about Joe Paterno, starring Al Pacino, we wondered who might play Sandusky. One devilish brother suggested George Peppard, my lifelong idol !! I told him that George Peppard was dead, and he said, yes, he knew that, but that he looked exactly right for the part. We have decided on Billy Bob Thornton - not for any negative reason - just that he is one actor who could do a lot with a very difficult role and do a good job of it.

I think you need a real bona fide creepy voice but handsome face to play Sandusky. I was thinking the guy who played Ben Linus in Lost or Kevin Spacey.

Yes !! And Kevin Spacey would be marvelous !! Poor Jerry Van Dyke looks the part, but he's not the actor for this role. Tommy Lee Jones or Robert Duvall could do it, but somehow, I don't want to see them doing that role. I guess the voice is the key. A tall guy, with an athletic build, older, with a pleasant but almost goofy face. A good chance for a comedian to cross over and do a serious role, like Robin Williams has done. (But he's not right, either.) It will be interesting to see who they choose.
