I also think that was Arif, I think Jed was the guy at the end asking the welsh guy for help after he killed the brunette woman. Doesn't really matter though, they were all pretty interchangeable!
I gathered that the drug increased pressure in the brain causing swelling which you see pretty clearly on Morty at the end.
I don't think I saw this bit properly though cos I thought he had cut his forehead with a piece of glass and pulled it down over his eyes as if he was trying to get something out of his head. It could have just been swelling like Morty though, I duno.
