Where was the opening (with the dome building) filmed?

Just watched this on Blu-Ray- the opening scene shows a dome-shaped building which in the story is supposed to be a roller rink, but looks a lot like a Century movie theatre, which were large theatres built mostly in the 1960s. A lot were in California (some are still standing) but were scattered among other states as well; I know this movie was filmed mostly in Canada and don't know if they had these theaters up there.

Listened to part of the commentary track and they said the scenes inside the roller rink were filmed in a warehouse, but they didn't mention where the outside was shot. Anyone know?
