Error in posting review, so I post it here! POTENTIAL SPOILERS.

I went into this movie with certain expectations based on the few
reviews I'd already read, and most of those were fulfilled. I was
actually enjoying the film more than I expected up until the last half
hour, when it seemed like the script completely lost its way and dumped
all logic out the window.

The camera work and locations were pretty damned good. The acting
wasn't BAD, but would've been better if the dialogue had been polished.
The budget for the zombie makeup had to have been pretty low, but that
didn't matter in this case because nothing looked cheesy. Just blood
and grime. The overall story wasn't bad, but there were definitely weak
points. No, the zombie outbreak wasn't explained, but unless you have a
really good explanation, sometimes the best one is nothing at all.
Zombies happen.

Those were the PROS.

Now for the CONS, which wrecked the end of the film for me. I'll just
number these: 1. Character overhears a radio transmission about the
zombies becoming 'more aggressive' -- suddenly all new zombies become
rage-filled sprinters.

2. After much explanation about the compound's security, and leading
daily sweeps / patrols for zombies left on the island (or showing up
from the sunken cruise ship off the coast), and the characters not
really encountering all that many zombies during the story, SUDDENLY
ZOMBIES EVERYWHERE! And all close to the compound and directly in the
path of where the characters MUST go (despite there being not a single
one in sight not an hour before when a character scouted the same
areas).

3. I completely lost any sympathy I had for the female lead when she
suddenly turns into the hugest douchebag and completely screws over
every last single living person in the compound in her desire to
escape.

4. Y'know, there's simply TOO much wrong with the last half hour to
complete this list. I don't know what happened, but all the film's
redeeming qualities were smothered.

If you like zombie movies, you'd probably like this, but end up feeling
disappointed. HOWEVER, all in all, I'd still watch this over Romero's
last two diarrhetic zombie flicks.

1.

It's said they became more aggressive after eating infested meal.

2.

Like the others they all came by boat.

3.

Well you know how girls mood changes when a guy just tried to rape them.

4.

Y'know it's simply TOO easy and lazy to say there's too much wrongs to list them to be considered a valid point.

Only a few of the zombies became runners, and this after the radio message in which the speaker was clearly freaked out by this new development. ("They're running!") Most of the others were still of the Romero slow-walking variety.

As for Tweeter, she had reached a point of panicky desperation that I don't find all that hard to accept.

I did not make it to the last 30 minutes. Stopped watching after the second multiple-stealth-zombies scene.

As for the sprinting zombies I just figured if they were fresh then could sprint...but except for the ham radio call you have no idea.

3. I completely lost any sympathy I had for the female lead when she

every last single living person in the compound in her desire to
escape.

I also thought this way about "Tweeter" at first. But after thinking about it, it really wasnt her fault...that guy did try to rape her and the idiot at the gate didnt' close the door in time. She was just running for her life..why the guard didn't slam the door is beyond me.

Overall I would say it's a decent low budget zombie movie...I have seen worse. A few to mention...Quick and the Undead, Rise of the Zombies, and the Day of the Dead remake...Netflix has some bad ones as well...i forget their names but the one had Zombies capturing humans and making them breed to eat the kids...and this other where this spec ops team goes after this dude's daughter
and the zombies talked and had weapons and would rape the female captured soldiers...that one was the worst

Uh, he did shut it and was in the process of locking it back up when the zombie got him, turned him and bit his neck.

She should have came back the same way she left, then no problem. Or said "Hey, I have these things behind me!! Get ready!" No, instead she ran past him and didn't even try to help him. She didn't warn anyone they broke through and were coming in.

I think it was because she wanted to get the girl out without them trying to stop her.
