'Kill Bill meets The Evil Dead'

You cannot deny, this film was just that. It was awful, but awfully hilarious. It is not a worth addition to the [Rec] franchise, but a future cult-classic standalone film.

I agree. If this movie wasn't named as part of the [Rec] series people wouldn't be giving it so much flack. As a stand-alone silly zombie film it was right up there with Dance of the Dead in my opinion. It had some good social commentary and was quite witty in parts. And despite the ending, it wasn't really sad, sort of a cheesy romantic ending, which is also somewhat original in the zombie film industry these days. It was so cheesy and bad that I enjoyed it. Totally agree with your analogy about "Kill Bill meets The Evil Dead." Maybe the producer's biggest mistake was using the [Rec] name, which basically made it seem like they were just capitalizing off of that series' name. This had a double backfiring, because it pissed off the [Rec] hardcore fans and simultaneously didn't allow this movie the cult status it deserves as a stand-alone film
