i see alot of you missed it..

i love rec 1 and 2 and i enjoyed rec 3. all the people cryin about how rec 2 was tied into rec 1 and sad cause rec 3 had no tie in obviously didnt pay attention to the first movie or this one. the first movie the little girl was sick from tonsillitis or so the docs thought and the dog was sent to the vet for being sick also. the obvious tie in with rec 3 was the uncle who was bit by a dog at the vet where he worked which he said in the first few minutes of this movie. he said the dog appeared to be dead and then jumped up and bit him. also this isnt really a continuation from rec 2 if you think about it. rec 3 just comes off as a spin off with prequel elements to show you what happened in the events of the infection (from rec 1) with the vet that the dog went to and the uncle spreading the infection at the party.

Aren't most people angry because it has comedic moments and isn't anywhere near as tense as the first two?

Just saying...

Don't you mean it has attempts at comedic moments and they fail. And it is not as tense or thrilling as the first two :).

You mean like when ''Sponge John Round pants'' said he was not wearing any underwear?

I actually thought the second one was pretty dumb. Loved the first one. I haven't seen the second one in a while so I can't recall specific reasons why other than the teens inside were super annoying and the trained army guys or who ever they were (again haven't seen it in a while) seemed totally incompetent. Oh yeah and the over use of the technique when the camera image jars because the camera is shaken too hard or something. Cool in the first, way over done in the second one.

Anywho, I enjoyed the third one and would watch it again before I would the second one.

I agree with you. I've just seen all REC movies last weekend and the second one just gave me a headache. REC 3 is totally different from the first two, but enjoyable. I thought it was pretty funny. I hope they'll tie the whole thing together in REC 4, preferably with the suspense and quality from REC 1. That would make for a nice series, with REC 3 being a movie to relax with before everything gets scary again.

Your post in mostly right. There are actually plenty of big clues showing (discerning) viewers a lot of "tie-ins" with the first two films. There is no prequel element to [REC]3; the events in all three movies are unfurling at the same time.

Also, in the scene where Koldo is in the room with the PA system, I believe the newscast on the TV in the background is showing [rec].

I was wondering if anyone else saw this as well. I just watched the movie and the scene when he was in the PA room had the TV newscast in the background with the hysteria over the the events in [rec] (1). This is all happening concurrently. And like someone else mentioned, the uncle was bit by the dog at the vet from the first rec.

It doesn't come off as a prequel to me, because as far as I know it's happening the day following part 1 and 2. And there are a few clues throughout the movie. Most of us just don't like it because it wasn't very good. Not a horrible movie, but not good either.
