what was the last line in the film?

I watched it with subtitles, but for some reason the taxi driver's line at the end did not come through. Can anyone oblige?

Thank you!

reply

A version I watched subtitled his quote as "Some party, eh?!".

reply

the taxi driver says "menuda fiesta, eh?" which can be translated as "hell of a party, right?" but the ofuoku71' subtitles are a more direct translation.

What was the point of this line? Yeah it shows that they made it back safely, but it seems so inherently irrelevant and stupid. I guess it was supposed to be amusing? But a better ending would've been welcomed.

reply

It's caused they look like they were ridden hard and put up wet.

Dang, are you always this bitter about little things? I'm going through topics on this board since I just finished the movie and his little joke managed to get that kind of reply.

Are you talking to me? I actually liked the movie--it was fine, not great. But I just thought that last line was a lost opportunity.

reply

I have to agree. I wondered for a bit what the line meant and then when I realized it, I thought it was pretty pointless. Unless it was meant to make us wonder, then it worked. The movie was okay as a movie, not much of a horror movie though.

reply

It was. Seems like the third one tried to become classic Evil Dead. The fourth also tries to go that way, just not as much, making it enjoyable but far from the serious and great tone of the first two.

It came across as more of an action/thriller to me.

At several points throughout the movie, various characters comment about "a party". Without watching the movie again, I recall the Captain and Nick tracking the storm before it hits and one of them comments that it's going to be "hell of a party" tonight. Also, when Angela confronts the military guy that rescued her about being the new host, after the doctor initiates self distruct of the vessel, the military guy pushed Angela below deck and comments about "let the party begin" or something before closing the hatch on her. The taxi drivers comment at the end was likely a nod to those earlier lines, without knowing what they've been through. "some party, eh?" Probably meant to be some sort of an inside joke for the viewer (wink, wink, know what I mean?)

It wouldn't fit within the timeline of the film, since more than one night had passed, but what came to my mind was a reference to the wedding reception in #3.
