Another great ghost story from John Orrichio

John Orrichio knows how to tell a good ghost story, so I'm looking forward to this one!

Really?? Are you kidding me?? Have you seen the trailer 'tease' that they have on IMDB, it's sooooo bad and I'm usually the one that's easy going about movies, but for this one even I could tell how bad and horrible the acting in it is!! I'm sorry I can't get back the 5 minutes or whatever it was I spent watching the trailer for it!! Dead Collections...I don't know about that...Dead...ABSOLUTELY, even before it ever got started!!

And the 2012 "armchair critic" award goes to...ALTEREGOME!

You must have watched it twice since it's only 2 1/2 minutes long. You wasted more time writing this. It's sad people like you only spew hate. Let us see some of your work, be it art, music etc. Let us judge that... Those who can, do, those who have no ability, criticize others! Do something productive with your time like volunteering at a homeless shelter or hospital, then your time won't be wasted and perhaps you'll be a better person...

Actually 'johnnyo-5' I have done volunteer work throughout most of my life! It is very rewarding, and I happen to love it! The last major volunteering position I did was teaching Stained Glass to highschool students in Washington State, and I actually do have one of my pieces of work hanging up outside of the Highschool! It's quite big and huge, 6ft x 8ft and it's hanging outside of Snohomish Highschool in Snohomish Washington, and you are more then welcome to go and 'critique' it!

Are you actually going to say that you have NEVER, and I mean NEVER...and be honest when answering please...you have never ever given a bad review of a movie, or tv show, NEVER? I would honestly find that hard to believe! Whether you choose to believe this or not, this surprisingly was the first time that I have ever taken the time to write such a review based from, and on only a 'trailer', and WOW who knew it would get such a response? Me thinks you guys protest a bit too much, no? Why care about what lil ole me has to say? Heck I just won the armchair critic's Award for 2012 ...THANK YOU VERY MUCH btw!! Geez, what I wrote is not written in stone, it's only my own opinion! Remember, you can't please everyone! I don't know of a single movie or tv show out there that does not have at least one person dislike, when others love, or vice-versa!

I also hate to burst your bubble, but it really didn't take me long to type out that 'review' of the trailer I gave, and quite frankly I really didn't think it was a waste of a minute's time at all! I really honestly did find it that BAD that I felt COMPELLED to write something! You're looking at it all wrong, it was not a waste of my time, but I more like felt it was my duty to write it! And as far as this response goes, it was my pleasure to spend the 3 minutes it took to type this out!

You really should try to remember that this is a forum also for people's opinions, they are not personal! I did not attack any single individual, only a 'trailer' that I didn't find even good. That's not to say that there wasn't any good actors in the trailer! There are plenty of Academy Award winning actors and actresses who have acted in some really bad movies too! You cannot win them all boys!

Hope you gentleman go on to have a wonderful day!

Hmmm...
Well it appears, and I repeat APPEARS, from your posts regarding "Dead Collections" that you are an internet troll. Someone who has nothing else to do but bash anonymously on the internet. Why, I'll never know. If you aren't a troll then maybe you should examine how you present your opinions.

For example:
1) You used all the classic troll jargon in your post. "I wasted 5 minutes of my life", "The acting is horrible", etc. Yet you never use a plot point, example of a scene or acting that was "horrible".

2) Without seeing the film (it isn't released yet) you posted a review of your "opinion" based on a 2 minute trailer.

3) You contradict yourself by saying the acting is "horrible", then in your last post then you say, and I quote: "That's not to say that there wasn't any good actors in the trailer".

I could go on, but why bother...
And just so you know, it is probably personal for the other two people who replied to you. johnny-o is John Orrichio (who directed this film) and Roberto Lombardi is one of the lead actors in it.

Of course, if you actually ARE a troll then I just "fed" you by replying!
My bad!

reply

LOL....ever heard of the saying 'it takes one to know one?'! I did quite clearly state that I had only seen the 'trailer', and I was generalizing with reference to the acting! Do you know what 'generalizing' means? That does not mean inclusively, or exclusively, but GENERALLY!

I'm not going to apologize for NOT liking something, or for putting my opinion based on a trailer here on Imdb, that is in part what the forum part is about! I love how you guys LOVE to attack, yet will not give any of my questions an honest answer! I did not attack anyone personally! Yes, I can certainly understand why the other two 'gentlemen' were taking it personally, but it really is not personal...and I'm surprised that none of you seem to be able to accept that you cannot please everyone all the time! Let's also not forget that there are roles out there that some actors just should not take part in, ie. the role's really aren't for them, ie. bad casting...and OMG do NOT go on a tangent claiming that I said it was also 'bad casting', because I did not, I was only using that as an example as to why a movie/show/play didn't work out all that well!

Now please try to go easy on feeding the trolls out there, wouldn't want to see an innocent person get bitten!

reply

I'm not taking it personally!
I really am not bothered by anything anyone writes about my acting or any movie I'm in.
It goes with the territory in the entertainment biz!
The banter back and forth is pretty entertaining though and the publicity doesn't hurt either!

You are entitled to your opinion (of course) and forums are here for people to post whatever they want.

Just watched this film and liked it a lot. The tricky and intricate narrative really keeps the viewer guessing on how the multiple storylines are ultimately going to tie together. Caitlyn Fletcher made for a sturdy and sympathetic lead while Roberto Lombardi and Edward X. Young both brought their considerable A game to their juicy villainous roles.

Obviously people rating this movie so high have something to do with the movie, the trailer proves them all wrong, this movie looks horrible.

As a no budget filmmaker myself I try not to bag on other films but there is a lot wrong with this movie. One, the 180 rule gets broken a few times jarring the audience with having the actors show up on the same side of the screen. Two, the on camera light is brutal. It really shouldn't be used at all. It distracts more than it helps. Three, all the zooms. I felt like I was watching an adult movie from the 80s with the zoom shots. Keep making films and hopefully your skill levels continue to grow.

Another useless troll post by someone who probably can't get out of their Mom's basement.

Sorry, but if you haven't seen a movie you have no business rating and reviewing it. Watching a trailer doesn't count either.

Oh, and to killsantakill:

As a no budget filmmaker myself I try not to bag on other films but there is a lot wrong with this movie.

While you are mostly respectful, I read quite a few of your posts after you posted here and apparently you DO like to bag on other films, actors and filmmakers!

Why don't you reply with links to some of your work so everyone can see and critique it? Not sure who you are exactly, but noticed you advertised your next film in your post. Bad form criticizing another filmmaker...

Seriously, I don't know why people waste so much time on the things they don't like.

Whether you like or dislike something, do it with respect and don't be a troll!

@telegraphOperator. I agree with your post. Not everyone is going to have the same likes and dislikes in movie viewing. That is why I specifically talked about technical aspects of the movie. I am not trying to call down the movie for *beep* and giggles. @DDYphilly if you check out www.supportourmovie.com and watch the teaser trailer for our film. Its only a minute long but technically it is a better production than this flick which boasts a $500,000 budget. My main purpose of the post was to hopefully share technical parts of the film that I hoped that the filmmakers could improve on with future movies. I didn't want to get into what my thoughts were on the movie it self because at the end of the day the viewer will be able to check out the trailer and see if this micro budget film is for them or not.

Aubrey may or may not have some mental issues from her past which she was responsible for. Our Santa is relentless and doesn't do one liners but I will be honest it's a slasher film so there is elements of cheese that goes with the genre. The film is actually centres around Aubrey's older sister who wasn't home for the slaughter and now sixteen years later Aubrey and Santa come to town.
