GD, what the hell was going on in this movie? SPOILERS!!!!

Questions, questions, questions.

So he kidnapped the kid, took him back and put him in a cage. So why bring him to the farmer's market where someone might identify him?

Why did he take the kid in the first place? Was he molesting him? Maybe he just wanted a friend?

Was William Sandler's character in on it? Seems like he was trying to ward the sister off, but again, no explanation is given.

So the sister turns out to be adopted. So then I guess a couple of years later they have a kid? That doesn't make sense.

Exposition, MFers!!! I hate movies like this! All we get is a dumb ass wrap up scene next to the ambulance. Ugh!!!

I'm more than likely overthinking this pile of dreck, but it really pisses me off when I sit through a 100 minute movie and they don't explain $h1t!!!

Good grief, did you actually watch the movie? The kidnapper was the two kids natural father, who escaped from the asylum fire after murdering their mother. The town appeared to be protecting him, but was just protecting the secret that they had burned down the hospital, killing the patients.

Admittedly you needed to actually pay attention to the film (they didn't have someone stand there and explain everything) but it was all explained clearly, there was nothing remotely obtuse or confusing.

I agree that the plot was fairly easy to figure out; what I found obtuse and confusing was how the two teenage boys take the kid for a ride, the kid goes to the bathroom and just happens to run into his natural father, who just happens to decide to kidnap him. AND we are to assume that the father (who is insane and hasn't seen the kid since he was a baby) recognized him enough on the spur of the moment to know who Nathan was. Seriously?

Between this enormous plot hole and the dreadful dialogue and acting, I just couldn't get into this one.

To each his own as to whether her or she liked the film, but the OP was claiming that the film was confusing and left questions unanswered and I pointed out - and you agreed - that the OP was mistaken and the film explained everything in a manner that was easily understandable.

yes he was in on it and though the flashback seem to be the one who lead everyone to do it which is why he was trying so hard to ward her off

They burn all the mental patients to destroy the asylum...
but they dont dare kill the crazy murderer who narrowly escaped death?
and who knows they did it?

I mostly just wanted to see how fat Val K was now.
