Rushed and way too short but not that bad

I expected absolute crap but was only annoyed that the movie was so incredibly rushed. Readers will understand.

Faith in Elba and mcConnaughy remains strong.

I agree. I don't know why there is so much hate for this movie.

Most of it was from people who were loved the books and thought that the Dark Tower film weren't as good as the books. I haven't read the books, but I thought that the movie was average, not terrible, but not great either.

Books are always better. I wish people could separate themselves from one medium to the next. I had to get over the fact that whenever the book has a redhead character they will 9.9999 times out of 10 not cast a redhead. *kicks dirt* But, I try to enjoy the movie for what it is. I don't get the hate either. It wasn't great, but I didn't hate it.

I enjoyed the first half. The whole setup and basically sticking to the books for the most part. But then it started to fall apart when they skipped Waste Lands entirely with a brief mention about travelling for 6 months, which I presume was meant to be a hint towards the train ride they took in the books. And then they skipped pretty much every interesting thing. I was worrying they'd make the Stephen King "cameo" happen for shits and giggles. Luckily that was cut too. The ending was basically fast-forward all the way, with all important characters out of the picture.
