Are you kidding me?

Like there's no elevator in India? No automatic door?

That's *beep* racist. and before you accuse me of being liberal, think real hard about what the trailer showed, and what you know about the rest of the world, outside of the US.

That was horrible, and the movie industry should know better by now.

reply

Agreed.

La-bibbida-bibba-dum, la-bibbida-bibbi-doo

reply

It is not racist. You are both *beeping* idiots for using a word you clearly do not know the definition of.

reply

Whatever, "Fat Guts".

The who cares what you think goes for you to!

Its like something out of the 90's. But since the internet getting big, Bush Jr, Iraq and the GFC a lot more Americans realise the rest of the world isn't as backwards and the USA isn't as perfect as they used to think.

reply

Haha, I just came here to say the same thing. My friend just went to marry his girlfriend in India and the trailer rubbed me the wrong way with scenes like that.

This is my signature. There are many others like it but this one is mine

reply

It depends on what part of India they are from. I watch Bollywood movies and I've seen the rural folk moving into the city plots all the time. It is not a stretch.

reply

I saw the movie last night and they made it very clear that they were from a village in the middle of nowhere that didn't have things like elevators. Also keep in mind this is based on a true story so if the people who the movie is about say they had never seen anything like that then who are you to doubt that?

reply

"Based on a true story" is a worthless concept these days.

reply

How is it racist? I think you have your concepts confused. If anything, it's ethnocentrism at best... or just plain ingnorance at worst.

But, seriously. Outside of a few cities in India, most of it is poor and probably doesn't have elevators. India is by and large still considered a third world country... just sayin.

reply

have you watched the amazing race when they are in india? it wouldn't surprise me if a lot of people from india haven't seen an elevator. many are living in shacks and very extreme poverty...not all of india is modern...and i'm not sure you understand what racism is...
