The movie takes place in 2008, culminating in Dinseh and Rinku being signed by the Pirates in November of that year, bearly on, JB is channel surfing and stumbles upon Susan Boyle on Britain's Got Talent where she sang "I Dreamed a Dream" for her audition. But that actually didn't happen until April 2009.
