Weird Theory

This may sound like a crazy explanation for some of the confusing aspects of this film (e.g. Professor and Thief looking at each other and smiling in the operating room) and I may be overlooking some facts that contradict my explanation, but what if they were the same person who knowingly meets the older/younger versions of themselves before the older version eventually Knowingly sacrifices himself for the younger version after the botched robbery. I know it isn't consistent with the tone of the story, but is there anything in the story that I'm overlooking which contradicts this explanation?

Your explanation is original, but that's about it. Read the other threads, the answer you seek is there.

#1) Is there anything in my explanation that is contradicted by anything in the movie? I'm thinking you are more well acquainted with the movie than me since I've only seen it once.

#2) Would you mind giving me the answers from the other threads that you're referring to so I don't have to sift through them?

Unless otherwise noted, anything in this message that seems sarcastic is NOT meant to be so. I apologize for any confusion.

Nah, I don't think so. This movie is excellent, as was the original French production. Your posts on imdb seem to be argumentative, and disrespectful of people and their time. You could search for the film plot, search for any similar theory to yours, or simply read the other six threads on the board in less time than it takes you to reply to my last post or this one. Instead, you note that you don't think the film is worth watching again, and want me to spend my time parsing your questions (which are not well thought-out...or are they?) Show some respect for others and their time, and most of all for yourself. The answer should take you 5 minutes tops to discover, or 5 seconds if you re-read my first reply. Best to you. And this is NOT meant to be sarcastic.

Wow. Some of my arguments about other movies may have been argumentative or disrespectful but concerning this movie I don't think I came off that way. If I did, my apologies.

There are so many more movies that exist than I will never be able to watch in my life so I try to spend most movie time watching movies I haven't seen. That doesn't mean a good movie wasn't worth watching again. Just didn't particularly touch me enough to draw me to it again. Doesn't make it bad.

I showed respect for your opinion when I asked you to tell what you knew about this movie. I am doing that again. If you are unwilling, I will take that as an expressed thought that I should move on.
