Why wasn't Zoey dead at the end?

Didn't he order them to kill her during the wedding?

reply

It was just a joke. Cohen who is Jewish loves to make anti-semtic jokes in his movies and this is another one. Not to take this movie too sersiously, but in the context of this movie perhaps he had a change of heart or his advisors talked him out of it.

None of the people that he had ordered them to kill in the past had been executed, why would they start now?

reply

This isn't a documentary, it was added for comedy reasons, i could see it coming a mile away too, but was still funny when he called for her death.

Excellent comedic movie I thought, a new favourite of mine.

On a side note, why does IMDB underline my correct spelling of 'favourite' when I am spelling it the correct ENGLISH way?
This site needs an update for correct/original ENGLISH, not altered American-English.

Cool story, bro.

It's a commonly used phrase on the internet. The person comes out of nowhere whining about how IMDB said he spelled "favourite" wrong (it's actually the browser that does that) when it's likely that nobody here really cares. Cool story bro is usually said after somebody says something that isn't really relevant to anything and sometimes not worth mentioning, hence why the poster said it.

British English has diverged significantly from how it was spoken in the days of Colonial America as well. In fact, our hillbilly dialect is closer (of course, not identical) to the English of Shakespeare's days than Received Pronunciation is...

The executor must've been on Zoey's payroll as well.

a better question is why he gives the throat slash order after retuning to power when he knows full well the people are not executed but rather shipped overseas.

It's called "being transported for life", rather than being executed by hanging or whatever. It was very common in 18th century England.

Why are you here if you haven't seen the movie yet?
