Missing First Act

This movie would have been a lot better if they had showed us Ben's history and the relationship with his daughter and Anna. The additional 5-10 minutes would have provided depth to the characters, justification for their actions, overall character development .... and gone a long way in saving the movie.

Also, Liana Liberato should have looked to Justin Long (Matt Farrell) and Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Lucy McClane) in Live Free or Die Hard (2007) for pointers on how to portray her character. Instead, she just came across as a combination of an immature, hot-headed, stupid know-it-all.
