Highmore's Acting and The Dialogue Were Highpoints for Me

I only saw the last half of this tonight and I don't usually care for 'teen films', but I thought the dialogue was very realistic in this one, and that really impressed me. There was nothing slick/Hollywood about Highmore's character. He was very awkward and there were many many pauses and silences, which is usally a major no-no in film. And many of them were never explained or resolved; their scenes just kind of trailed off(like real life sometimes.) Thought Highmore did a terrific job.
The plot, the story arc, the ending- left lots to be desired, but i still liked seeing it for the dialogue and his performance.

The way to have what we want
Is to share what we have.

I agree. Saw this movie in the theater twice last summer. Made me a big Highmore fan. Check out Toast, a British film. He radiated in that.

Highmore 'a acting was HORRIBLE here! Are you kidding me dude? He was so creepy and awkward and annoying. I wanted someone to smack him with a police baton the whole movie.
