5,995,000 years = "virtually overnight" ???

I was just watching Action Bronson Watches Ancient Aliens and the ancient aliens guy just said, "We went from swinging in trees and eating bananas to building pyramids virtually overnight.

Humans stopped swinging from trees about 6 to 8 million years ago.

How is that "virtually overnight"?

When is the last time you heard someone call 6 to 8 million years, you know, virtually overnight?

reply

You are missing the point..

The Earth is 4.5 Billion Years old.

8 Million Years?

"Non-swinging" Humans have only been on Earth for 1/562.5 of all that time.

Up until just a few decades ago, mankind thought the first complicated thing that was built by humans was the Pyramids, and those were supposed to have been built around 5,000 years ago. The oldest thing known today, is about 12,000 years old.

Pyramid Building Humans have only been on Earth 1/666.6666666666667 of the time that Humans stopped "swinging in Trees".

1/666.6666666666667th of a year comes to 0.547875 days. That is about half a day, other wise known as Night.

But you don't consider that time to be overnight?

Many people do...

Some trivia, since I already did the math...

Pyramid Building Humans have only been on Earth for 1/375,000 of the time the Earth has been around...

But I know, you meant those 5,990,000 years that we were not Swinging in trees...

Well, we were not building pyramids, so what were we doing...

Picking our noses, and staring at Rocks? It seems we did just that...

Until suddenly... We went to bed one night, and woke the next day... and decided to build perfect pyramids, aligned with compass directions, and perfectly mapped out to represent the Belt in the Constellation of Orion...

Very Impressive.

They had to build the pyramids at night, because during the day, you cant see the stars.

They spent millions of years looking up and preparing, until one night they all got together and created everything.

They said: "Let there be night".

I skip reading the bottom line, because it is usually some lame signature.

Sad that McDemuth logically explained the context of the statement, but some here still refused to acknowledge that context in favor of viewing the statement literally so they could irrationally dismiss it out of hand.

An illustration of why some still rely so heavily on religion to make sense of their worlds.

You haven't been to Detroit lately. They are still swinging from trees and walking in traffic.
