Is this supposed to be related to Gappa?
From the trailer, it looks like a butt ugly fat Gappa.
Science flies you into space. Religion flies you into buildings.
It's actually related to the monster of the same name (Kappa) of Japanese folklore. The kappa is one of many types of monsters known as Yokai.
