The premise doesn't make sense...

Why are these creepy kids running around killing/kidnapping and basically no one knows or cares?


Why did the bus driver let the kids on? And he didn't respond when the protagonist told him there was a murder??


Why did the woman not know they were deadly little things and go up to them?


And why the heck did the priest let them kill him? To atone? His screams of pain were disturbing
