Enjoyed it!

I liked the movie, kept me entertained. Good dialogs and loved the chemistry among all the actors. We need movies like this and not some mindless Sci fantasy movies that hurt the brain.

I'm glad you liked the movie. I have a serious question, if you don't mind me asking. I'm a pretty big sports fan and followed Michael Jordan's career pretty closely since he was was freshman at UNC. Is this a sports-type movie? Also, to be honest, I used to really like Nike products, but don't anymore. However, I do like Matt Damon and Ben Affleck as actors.

From seeing the previews, I don't think this is a movie I'd probably watch. However, I thought I'd ask and get your impressions of the movie. Thank you!

It’s more about the business side of sports — sportswear sponsorships in particular. However some of the movie is about recognizing talent in players early in their NBA careers and game footage is analyzed. Michael is a focus of the movie but features hardly at all as a character. His parents feature far more.

Especially if you like Matt and Ben, I think you’d enjoy the movie. However, it’s not a film that benefits a lot from being on a large screen, so I think you could wait until it is streaming.

Thank you very much for your reply...I really appreciate it! Yes, I'll probably wait until it streams or comes out on TV....but I will try to watch it!

Thanks again...have a great evening!

You bet. Write back when you see it and let us know what you think.

Agree. It's more of the business, and branding side of the sports celebrity. It was still entertaining though. Whether you like basketball or not, it still appeals to all audiences.

If you like Ben and Matt, you should watch the movie. Some great and funny one liners throughout the movie.

I also enjoyed this movie. It reminds me of when I worked for a startup software company back in the '80s. So many times we were on the verge of going out of business when a hungry sales rep managed to grab an account away from a bigger competitor. Or, when our hotshot CFO convinced a bank to give us another chance when financing through another fell through. Seeing our company grow from 16, when I started, to thousands worldwide. Exciting, fun, times those '80s!

Yup! The movie was very enjoyable. We loved it.

I thought it was boring but there's one great scene and it's the Nike pitching scene. Matt Damon's award reel is his speech at the end.

reply

Me too, it's a good film.

reply

Yeah, I was skeptical at first, but this was actually pretty enjoyable.
