CopyCat

It's ok to have different people play the same role in different movies. But this guy has totally no acting abilities and is just copying Donnie Yen in his Original Ip Man roles. He can't make it his own.
Poor film trying to ride on original Ip Man's success. I much rather watch Tony Leung's version of Ip Man.

2 stars for the action. And why would Sammo want to work with these ppl and degrade himself after filming with Donnie Yen?

This film is on par with Ip Man 1 and is a lot better than Ip Man 2. And this film happens to showcase a lot more Wing Chun skills in comparison to the Ip Man films. And the role is supposed to imitate Ip Man, not Donnie Yen. You can't say he's a copycat of Donnie Yen if Ip Man was actually like this in real life. Donnie Yen, prior to filming, researched the way Ip Man behaved and spoke. With Ip Chun being the overseer of the project I would say Donnie Yen is 90% spot on with his portrayal. Dennis To is the same probably with the help of Ip Chun who makes a cameo in this film.

Well, they are both playing the same person, so it seems reasonable that their performances are so similar. Like if two different actors played George Washington in two different movies.
