very disturbing indeed.

having watched this documentary numerous times & finding the content controversial,i am surprised that i am the first here to start a topic.
first off,i feel that the french people were equally responsible for the atrocity.there is no doubt in my mind that they assisted the Germans in the capture of the platoon.
it makes me shudder to think what pain the platoon went through as the Germans mutilated them,it must have been horrendous waiting for them to finish.what was equally disturbing was the camera footage of the Germans (believed to be responsible)shortly after the massacre.they appeared calm as if nothing had happened.
it is just a crying shame that people that fight for their country & their beliefs should be discarded in such a way.

Late response as I viewed the documentary just recently. Agree with your assessment of the attitudes of the soldiers, there was a reference in the film as to what could happen to them if they disobeyed the order.

I think they were Belgian not French
