Brilliant show, can't believe the hate!

I am so shocked to see all the hate for this show! i came on these boards to share my joy for such a funny show, and i find everyone hating it!

I have watched each episode three times and they get funnier each time i watch them! i think the show will garner better reviews once people have re-watched the episodes without the uncontrollable comparing to extras and the office has disappeared. i think that is what the problem is, people are just watching it and instead of enjoying it for what it is, they cant help but compare it. if the office or extras never existed and this show suddenly came on our screens, it would be a big hit like the office.

warwick davies is fantastic and a perfect actor for the comedy stephen merchant and ricky gervais produce. I hope we get a second series cause im loving it!

Well, you are a member of the new generation of Ricky Gervais fans then. We "haters" are probably looking for different things based on our experiences with the old Ricky Gervais, but if it works for you, surely go ahead and enjoy yourself.

the humour is very similar to the office so what is the problem?

I would say the majority of the 'haters' don't actually hate it they're just disappointed. I personally don't hate it however it's impossible not to compare the 3 shows. For me:
The Office = 10/10
Extras = 9.5/10
Life's too short = a generous 7/10

I think my ratings would be pretty similar. I am disappointed by many things in Life's Too Short but it is far from the exaggerations made on this board.

I think people just like to hate on Gervais because he's become so popular. Personally I loved the series, better than Extras IMO,Warwick has that comedy timing!

I totally agree.
I was so angry after the fist show thinking Warwick is just another David Brent, but I watched all episodes in one breath just now and I want more.

So that has to count for something.

The office 10/10
Extras 9/10
Life's too short 7/10

I don't think anything can top 'the office', it was simply genius.

as for rating the other two series I would give 'extras' and 'life's too short' both a 8.5/10

I completely agree the material is nothing new, but I'm glad it isn't, because I love that style of humour.
