'Life's Too Short' DVD review

Though there are seven episodes in season one, the show doesn’t seem to go anywhere. Sure, the second half of the season saw Warwick Davis stepping into the dating world and having his divorce finalized, but we really didn't see much of an arc with him or any other character on the show. Granted, "Life's Too Short" has a formula that could go on for multiple seasons where we simply watch Davis in many uncomfortable situations, but we'd like to see more substance added to the show and its characters.

That's like reviewing a jazz album and complaining that it doesn't have enough heavy metal in it. If a show is not meant to present a progressive story line, why hold it hostage to such critique?

I understand the criticism, but why criticize something for not being something it isn't intended to be. I'd imagine you're comparing it to 'Extras', which had an amazing arc; and as such, is the only context in which your criticism is at all valid.

I'm going to guess you don't like Seinfeld either...it just never...went anywhere.

I thought it was a bit funny on the dvd sleeve you see Warwick lying on a bookshelf, and if you look at the dvd's on the shelves, you can clearly see Ricky Gervais stand-up shows, all 3 of them, as well as The Office, and Extras. The rest of the dvd's are hard to make out. I can never really tell if Ricky is actually smug or if he just plays it up because he knows people feel that way about him and he's just having a bit of fun with it. Oh, and Steve Merchant's stand-up show 'Hello Ladies' is on the shelf too.
