compared to the book how is it ?

anyone ?

Let's face it, people hate art movies. Especially when they are not expecting an art movie"

I still can't see how they could adapt Gibran's poetry into a feature length film. I'm hoping it's good, but I can't see ho they'd pull it off.

If they can simply get a visual approximation of what Gibran was saying, I'll consider that a success. But of course I still have to see it to find out whether it works as a film, much less as an adaptation of such a beloved book.

It's very good, but I am not familiar with Gibran's work.

Lower your expectations considerably. The movie is half really crappy 3D, with obnoxious jokes and an incredibly disappointing dub. The segments that are based on the book are for the most part pretty good, but they can be inconsistent. A couple are set to music and the lyrics miss the depth of the writing. All in all it's a lot of missed potential. It's a movie that could never reach a wide enough audience to make up its budget so they tried dumbing it down and ended up with a movie that fails under serious criticism and still is too much for a mainstream audience.
