US Release?

Does anyone know if this will be released in the US? I did a bit of googling bt couldn't find anything out except that it is supposed to be released in the UK at some stage.

reply

I highly doubt it.

Don't know if i will be released in US, but you can order it from a danish online store such as www.moviezoo.dk or www.cdon.dk, it's included with UK subs, proberly okay eventhough you are from US.

reply

the US uses region 1 DVD's and Europe uses region 2, they are not compatible.

Most dvd players can be made region free, do a google search with your make and model and I'm sure you can find a simple hack that uses your remote to unlock the player.

I've never been able to change a DVD-player to Region 0, from my experience most DVD-players have a limited number of changes between Region 1 and 2, then again all my DVD-players combined have probably cost me less than $70.

I have three dvd players, Two Philips and an LG, I have converted all to region zero and they play dvds from all regions.
Once they become region zero you don't have to keep changing them back like you do with a PC.

for my LG player* it was as easy as this.

Turn on the player (without disc inserted)
Open the disc tray
(Press PAUSE)
Press 0, 0, 0, (0)
Enter region (1-6; 0=region free)
(Press PAUSE)
Turn it off

*Depending on your model, some models have different codes.

It may be in your best interest, if you like foreign cinema and invest in foreign DVD's, to shell out the cash and just grab a high-end DVD-ROM. It's quite easy to run the computer to your TV as well if you don't want to watch the DVD on the computer.

My DVD-ROM was about 100 when I got it (about 4 or 5 years back), and I've watched every region but 7 and 8 with no trouble whatsoever. I don't even need to change any settings or anything...a region 3 DVD (which I've watched a LOT, big fan of South Korean cinema) may take a second or two to get itself going, but it always works.

Haven't had the chance to try any official screeners (region 7) yet...and I've no clue how I'd go about even GETTING a region 8 disc to try...but yeah, a regionless DVD-ROM can be had for well under $150 if you look around. I never use my DVD player as such (I always watch movies on my computer, I just prefer the ease of it even though the screen's a bit smaller)

I have no problems with it since I live in Europe (currently in Denmark actually), It was just a personal observation.
