Is there actually an audience?

You hear an audience, but don't see them, and it seems like it's fake, like a laugh-track.

What have you been watching? I watch Baggage every night and I see the audience.

reply

In fact many of the episodes the contestant that chooses is in the audience. You always see the audience putting fingers up on who to choose.

reply

hmmm Yeah, that audience can get pretty adamant about whom to choose all right.

But you never hear Jerry announce that it's a live studio audience - so we can't tell if they use mannequins and then insert footage of audience participation later - or how that works.

Sometimes, though, the selector and Jerry are seated among the bleachers with extras all around them - but those extras behave a lot more sensibly than the audience heard when the selector is trying to decide upon dumping someone, right?

where's this filmed? Los Angeles?

reply

It was filmed in Los Angeles. The show ceased production 2 years ago. The episodes being aired are reruns.

Other than assuming it was because of low ratings, I don't have any inside information as to why it was cancelled. Springer tapes his talk show in CT, so there's a chance the bi-coastal commute/scheduling was a factor.

You see the live audience in every episode, reacting to everything right behind the stage...:/

I'm watching it on GSN right now, and they just showed the audience right before the commercial break.

reply

Prob because they're all dumb and make the same noises "ohhhh"
