Well...

What the bloody hell was all that about then?

reply

aliens, mutants, genetic experiments?

more questions at the end than the beginning

Possible spoilers.

Damn, those gals were frustrating characters. Instead of hunkering down in the house, they had to go outside, with all those "things" out there.

Were those humans in ape like suits? Like the one Ryan found early in the movie?

reply

I dont know *what* they were supposed to be. It seemed like a hot mess of a million different ideas thrown into a blender with no explanation or even a hint. There were zombies.. weird screeching beetle things.. gorillas.. a pregnant woman spraying blood. From wilderness to industrial area in the space of a short run.

I'm lost. Utterly. One of the most incoherent films I've ever seen.

reply

I too got frustrated by them trying to get outside again twice instead of finding somewhere to hide until daylight

reply

yeah, hahaha... i actually thought they looked like sloths, but i suppose it was just that suit.

all of these and Zombies, don't forget the Zombies.

When there's no more room in hell, The dead will walk the earth...

reply

Infected, not zombies :D

reply

don't forget the Zombies. .............I think the technical term is 'Walkers' :)

***Spoilers***

I think what they tried to show was.. the whole area may be quarantined and the creatures and insane people were the result of an military/govt. secret project. they also showed some mutation/hybrid experiments done on people like the pregnant woman shown giving birth to a creature. when these experiments went out of hand they send out enforcements to wipe out the whole area.

reply

I took it to be that the military facility was used as a breeding ground for the creatures, the pregnant woman was being used to birth more, and it was all a rogue military operation, hence the desperate attempts to keep it quiet. I took the 'zombies/whatever' as people being experimented on by the rogue military regiment. As for why they left the house, it was because they realized the house was used by the military personnel, being the first place the military would look...

Indeed, not everything is answered, like why they are doing these experiments, or where the creatures came from, but if everything was explained, it wouldn't be half as much fun. Everyone would just be pointing out the plotholes.

reply

exactly!

Did anyone else notice that the military guys kept referring to the woman as 'precious cargo' (when talking on the radio) - seemed like a code that might suggest the outbreak is something completely apocalyptic?

Dunno if I'm reading too much into it, but if 'precious cargo' is a code word for 'women', sounds as if the human race may be on the verge of extinction very soon due to whatever the heck was going on, and the military are trying to round up as many women of childbearing age as possible.

reply

i think the "precious cargo" meant either survivors, or more people to experiment with,

also- i don't know if anyone noticed; but wasn't the "pregnant woman giving birth" without a head and arms- missing parts of the chest so it was basically just a pair of legs, giant bulging stomach, and half a torso lying there?

reply

The guy that was leading the girls around for much of the end of the movie wanted them to keep the camera on, I assume so that they could have more "evidence" of what was going on. I thought maybe the "precious cargo" was not only her, but also the camera.

I don't know about the woman giving birth. So looked like a fairly petite woman with a large belly, and I didn't really give it much more thought.

reply

Anyone have the thought that maybe they were all contestants or stars of a reality show? If you've seen "Scare Tactics," it seems plausible that this could have been a high-budget, extended "fear prank" on one of the girls.

reply

after reading all theese comments, I believe this film succeeded where others just haven't, it's all about the wtf was that convosations you have after. personally i think it could have been better, given something a little more. but tbh i think they called her precious cargo beacause she was infected and they could restart again maybe.

hence all the tests. shame that sweet little thing had her head explode but, thats horror movies for you.

reply

Love your comments and really appreciate you taking the time to watch the movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

reply

I think there's no explanation. A facility like that wouldn't be lost in the woods without anybody noticing.

It's just a bunch of scenarios and monsters ideas put together with no reason, just all bad stuff chasing the girls until camera batery goes off.

reply

It was built into a mountain. The government has thousands of sq miles of underground facilities. No one would see it if they were on a side with no large entrance.

reply

Stupid....stupid movie.

Oh my god, unisex names killed my family.
