Personally, I won't recommend anyone to watch this movie. If anyone denies my view, please convince as to why is movie nice.

I mean I watched the whole movie having an expectation that something eventful would happen & the movie just finished with him leaving home with the kid.YOU, my friend belongs to the 'Bollywood' fantasy world and not worthy of such fine arts. There is a niche in everything, even in the world of fine arts; actors, films and the arts as a whole. Certainly you are not one that knows or understand the logic behind such art.

The Boy's decision to move out was an event in itself. The movie is so appreciated because many in the audience have had the same relationship with their fathers. Perhaps not so physically abusive, but cold and distant.

To answer in as simple and short manner as possible - Since your whole pretext of not liking the movie and appreciate such a brilliant work is "Event", Go out and do a survey finding how many 19 20 year olds after going through such ordeals take the inspiring decision of not only living life on their terms but feeling strong enough to take responsibility of a younger brother/sister without having anything in hand.
That my friend is an "Event" if you understand !!!!
I don't quite understand this either, and have no intention to pretend like some hypocrites that I appreciate the movie. The pace is pretty slow, the story is plain, quite boring sometimes, just an ordinary person's story (well, maybe a little more than ordinary, but certainly nothing really stands out). I give it a 6 rating. Definitely not worth a place at imdb top 250.
