Takes Off in the Second Half

The set-up is rather contrived and the first half is stereotypically melodramatic, but this film really finds its feet and direction in the second half, after finally retuning its focus to Federico. Thank goodness the director chose not to turn it into a prison movie. The conclusion, however, when the three protagonists meet in the final scenes is entirely unexpected - but, very realistic.🐭
