Henry Cavill would be a perfect Bond!!

Otherwise dumb boring disappointing movie from Guy Ritchie who gave us Sherlock Holmes.

I found Henry a little too suave. Almost to the point of being a parody of Bond. But then again people think that about Roger Moore as well. But I admit I love Roger's Bond movies. Maybe Henry could pull off Bond if he had a good, fun script to work with.

Cavill definitely lacks the edge of a Daniel Craig, but then again each new Bond tends to be the opposite of the Bond he replaces.--Connery [Suave, but edgy] replaced by Moore (skipping Lazenby) [Debonair, light] replaced by Dalton [Edgy, dark] replaced by Brosnan [Debonair, light; though not as light as Moore] replaced by Craig [Dark, edgy]. My guess is the next Bond will be a bit more in the Brosnan mold, in which case Cavill would be a good fit.

He would have as a replacement for Roger Moore. As it is, I don't want any new James Bond for some time. I think Cavill would be better used as another character than Bond.

I hate sounding like a broken record, but he is a perfect reinvented Solo and it would be fun to see good writers and directors develop that. He was perfect as the suave, cocky, light-hearted, competent and ultimately loyal agent.

He sure as heck would, although it's highly unlikely he nabs another career defining role like Bond after playing Superman. You don't see that too often these days which is a shame because I think he would have been a really excellent Bond as well. Physically, he's amazing as Superman, but I hate what Zack Snyder and the writers have done to the Superman character. Cavill deserves better than what he's been given in the role.

Elba would be a good Bond.

Napoleon Solo was created by Ian Fleming as an American, small screen version of Bond. He's essentially Bond with an American accent. Having said that, after playing Solo the character of Bond is far too similar so I doubt Cavill will ever be Bond, now.

He's already Superman, so it's doubtful he'd take on another Franchise.

reply

Yeah Superman and Solo... he'd never be given the opportunity. But live-action Archer?! Oh yeah!

It's too cerebral! We're trying to make a movie here, not a film!

But live-action Archer?!

I wonder if they could make that work. It would be like watching five episodes non stop, kind of OD. But if they managed it, he might be a good pick, certainly looks the part. But still, who could play Lana, I mean those man hands...

It may happen. After all he did audition for the part before and my guess is that he came in second to Daniel Craig.

“Perhaps Henry Cavill was too young for it then, he was 22 at the time we auditioned for Casino Royale, but maybe he could still be James Bond in the future. After all, Pierce Brosnan did a great screen test only to eventually get the part years later.”

2 of the Bond actors were considered some years before they got the part.

Dalton was offered the role in the 70s to replace Connery but he declined since he felt he was yoo young at the time, Pierce was close to get the part in the 80s but wasn't able to do it due to Remington Steele.

So cavil could still play Bond and as a fan of Pierce i think Cavil would be his best succesor, Pierce is my favorite Bond and I want the next bond to be very much in his style and there is no better Pierce Bond type right now thsn Cavil
