Proof the current theater model is broken

This movie was fantastic. The failure of this film and Dredd almost tells me that it's time for movie theaters to change or for Hollywood to rethink how it gauges the success of a movie.

In my opinion, although I loved this film, I think it failed at the box office, because it didn't have an audience. Kids, teenagers, millenials all weren't interested. It was too sophisticated for the masses. Please forgive me for saying this but I was also a fan of the oft ridiculed, The Lone Ranger. That too had no audience. Too violent for kids. In both instances when I saw the film in the theater(and I saw both on multiple occasions)the seats, what seats were taken, were inhabited by fossils like myself.

I'm a millennial, and this is EXACTLY the only kind of movie I'm interested in. You can't paint whole groups with broad strokes.
