Filming Locations

Based on what the credits say, the film was shot in Morocco and Afghanistan.

I suspect that Golshifteh Farahani did all her scenes in Morocco, but some of the shots of her character walking down streets were filmed in Afghanistan (Kabul?) with a stand-in.

I also think that the flashbacks to the woman's childhood, including the quail fights, were filmed in Afghanistan. At one point her father walks through a bird market and I noticed a man filming birds with a mobile phone. Most of the men in that shot were wearing salwaar kameez, so I think they just filmed the actor playing the father walking through a real market in Kabul.
