Holy sh*t on a stick!

Damn...

I was anticipating this to be like the pilot episode for a series, something like the first Stargate episodes, but no. It's just awful. And it's not the plot or the effects that ruins it, it's the script and the acting. There just doesn't seem to be any sense to the characters or their actions.

Priority number one must be to get home, which is difficult enough, but that doesn't stop our intrepid heroes from "exploring" even though they are losing people every few minutes.

And the effect of having been transported to an alien world, where those around you are being butchered by gigantic monsters, never seems to bother the characters that much. It's like "Hey, we just lost another one! Let's keep splitting up in to small defenseless groups, and maximize the chance of pissing the monsters off.".

I realize that the senator was a prick, but after his violent demise the characters don't seem that bothered by having his severed corpse outside their door. It just never felt real. Like the actors knew perfectly well that John Rhys-Davies was having an espresso in the next room.

My recommendation: AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Even if you like sci-fi. DON'T! I'm serious! Put. It. Out. Of. Your. Mind.

What movie did you watch? Hey, you have a right to your opinion. I am used to crappy scy fi channel movies, but actually thought this was decent. Interesting characters, plot, and action, well to a point.

I think that the acting was quite good - what was lacking was the script. The performers were not given realistic lines. For what it is, I liked it. I found it quite interesting to think how the two survivors are going to explain what happened to the rest of the victims.
