Gender inequality and lookism no one’s talking about

I was binge watching the first two seasons belatedly and it just occurred to me... when it comes to the murder case of a young, pretty girl, the investigators can spend a whole season or even multiple seasons trying to find out who-dun-her in. Cases in point: Rosie Larsen / the Killing, Laura Palmer / Twin Peaks, Lilly Kane / Veronica Mars. In contrast, when the stiff is an old, aesthetically challenged, homeless man, it usually happens as one of two or more murders in an episode of CSI or the like which means the case is solved in less than 22 mins of screen time. What’s more, his corpse may even serve as a butt of a bad joke for the investigators; “Yeah, I bet he smelled the same when he was alive. ha-ha.”
…just some food for thought
