Who's your 'Flash Gordon'?

In other words, who's that "hero" of yours who you grew up loving and will probably act in the same way as in the movie if you meet him/her?

As someone who grew up in the 90's, mine will probably be any of the power rangers or Liu Kang (Robin Shou) and Shang Tsung (Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa) from the old Mortal Kombat. (Screw you, I was a kid, back then, so don't blame me for watching MK over and over again!)

And yes, I'll probably have the same experience as in the movie when I meet them (slow-motion, daydream-vision of us fighting together, etc.).

Mortal Kombat is an awesome movie....the effects havent aged the best but they were never that great to begin with. But its still a fun movie to me even though i hate techno and the original 3 MK games. lol So no apologies needed there!

as for someone i grew up loving and all.....i'd have to go with Robert Englund (you know, the original Freddy Krueger). i grew up in the 80s and thats always been "MY" franchise, the one movies series i loved over everything else. so meeting him would definitely get me all giddy and like a little boy again. i got a personalized autographed photo from his official site a while back and even just getting that got me all sorts of excited so yeah. it was like "wow he knows i exists and knows my name" lol

the only Hero I have is my mom, that woman has been through so much crapp and continues to be a strong, good-hearted, kind and loving person. This is my idea of a Hero, not some character in a make believe world, or some actor playing a role. But this is just me..

cryonix... you completely missed the point of this thread... :P

reply

I'm with you, Cryonix, I love my mom too. She's one of a kind, all around fantastic. My idea of a hero.

Oh yeah, my mom's Clint Eastwood, aka Philo Beddoe.

reply

lmao my mom is amazing too, but it has nothing to do with this thread

reply

Yeah, but your mom isn't Philo Beddoe.

Probably Mr. T. The man just doesn't seem real. If I ever met him I'd think I was dreaming.
And big Arnie.

Raphael from the ninja turtles...i grew up on TMNT, and still love them to this day - they represent my childhood, and raph in particular. there is no doubt that when the new movie hits theatres next year, despite my misgivings regard michael bay producing, i will go see it. i saw the original movie in the drive-in, and at one time owned the first two on videocassette. so no doubt - i loved the turtles, and still do. id love to meet the actor(s) who have portrayed the character over the years, or better yet, the creators of TMNT, kevin eastman and peter laird. im now 30; i wasn't yet 8 when i saw the first movie back-to-back with Home Alone at the drive-in, and can still remember it very well. i was already a fan of the cartoons, and the movie was, at least to me, so damn cool at the time. like most movies we watched as children, it hasn't aged real well, but hey, i dont care. i still watch it when its on tv sometimes, and absolutely relish every second.

step up or shut up!!!
