Roadkill - same sh** different day

I'm watching this movie and of course just like all the low budget sci fi horror movies out there, they do the same thing. bunch of 20 something coed types in the same situations , traveling or just someplace nobody in gods name would be in. and either locals or some monster kills them off in Bmovie fashion.

the plots of these movies are not important since the end results are usually the same. the climax of 90 percent of these movies are downbeat so that even if any of the protagonists survive ,they usually will add some type of scene right at the end to indicate that the story has not been resolved. Then of course a lot of these movies will get a sequel based on that fact , well we didnt resolve the story so we can revisit it if we ever want to. People will tune in or pay for it of course. I watch them yes and i know i can choose not to watch and change the channel but that's what critiques are for , maybe im expecting that they will attempt to do something different but especially with the sci fi original movies, they do nothing more than recycle the same plot elements of young people in stupid hopeless situations ,changing the location and type of enemy but basically the same have them run around and kill them off one by one type scenarios. See you at the B-movies

What else do you expect from SyFy? To their credit even horror movies in a theater often involve dumb teens/young adults running away from a killer or killers.

It was still kind of good and at least SyFy finallly got the hell out of the U.S. and North America and filmed in Ireland for a change!

Yeah, it was kinda the same, but I noticed this one was just a tad darker in spots. I mean the woman stays in the Roc's nest rubbing her beloved with her blood as if she were in sexual ecstasy.

Slighty darker. . .. .

One thing that they did that was kind of different for a Syfy movie was they pulled a "Feast", where the people you expect to live, don't. I mean, who expected the annoying, prick friend with no beginning backstory to be the last one alive?

This was definitely better than your average SyFy Saturday night schlock fest!

Actually OP, now that I think about it, this one is really a mild step up from other Syfy movies.

Just look at all the stupid reality/housewife/singing/dancing and a 100 different CSI shows that are all copies of each other!

A combination of so many similar films, but done well. Every so often syfy gets one right. By that I mean really tense and scary - Carny with Lou Diamond Phillips comes to mind among others. Gory special effects done well and the bad guys are bad. The story is just enough to hold the action together. Don't look for anything else there. The bird is typical syfy. Worth a gander to kill some time as I sit here with my iPad. Lol.
