Doesn't make a lot of sense

Why would any society agree to have their citizens have timers implanted in them to kill them when the timers ran out. No dictatorship or totalitarian regime could withstand the backlash for long. Also, since these things are electronic, some hacker would have broken the security very quickly. A dumb concept all around.

Have you ever heard of the third world? Swap the timers for food and money. According to UNICEF 22,000 children died because of poverty today!!! And the people who cause it (the totalitarian regimes) will continue to do so without impunity and the people who ignore it (the West) will continue to sleep soundly in their beds! This is a symbolic telling of a very real existence!!

You're a dumb concept all round!!!

We have to show the world that not all of us are like him: Henning von Tresckow.

This movie doesn't make any sense

While the concept wasn't terrible per se, it was half baked at best. There are far too many questions and clarifications that go unanswered, going into the film, that suspension of disbelief can only get you so far...Personally I thought the whole premise was a bit ridiculous.

I mean, humanity has supposedly achieved immortality. Think about that for a second. We have practically achieved divination, transcending to a higher level of existence and people somehow monetize time (everyone stood in line willingly and had digital timers implanted on them that instantly kill them when time reaches 0? How does that make any sense) and still care about trivial materialistic things.

More to the point while we are "immortal" we can just easily be killed by a bullet? We somehow managed to defy the laws of nature but we still haven't solved gun control problems and common thuggery? It makes absolutely no sense in my mind and that's only a couple of things that are wrong with the script of this film.
