From a teenagers perspective

Hey guys, Im 17 as of now, watched this movie and for all its fun it tried so hard to show, i didn't like it one bit. It wasn't funny, representative of what most teens are like and was immoral in many ways.

Now dont get me wrong, Im the sort of person who goes to the occasional party, has good grades, spends time with his family, does outdoor stuff and basically prides himself in having a balanced and healthy life. Now I understand that parties can get out of hand, and while I must admit having epic parties can be a lot of fun, disregarding other people's property, vandalism, and basically not giving a *beep* about the community and neighbors and such, im sorry but thats just crossing a line. Its not fun, its basically you being a dick to everyone else. Im sad that people my age find this movie fun, and i hate the whole 'party was epic all is forgiven' etc *beep* Trust me, realistically, this guy basically screwed up his life and many people lives and should be punished, not having the whole 'happy ending' bullcrap. There are plenty of ways of having fun and making it epic without being a complete dick to the rest of the community.

So long story short, i dont like this movie at all and it further instigates and encourages people my age do this sort of crap. Parties can be fun, but lets not go overboard.

I party too, in case you're incapable of reading my post. All i'm saying is not being a complete dick to your community. I doubt its this hard to comprehend

Please don't watch the new batman movie, cause if you get in danger here,.. nno wait. "There", you know.. ....outside the web.- In the real world! Then BATMAN won't come save you :(. This is not because he wants to be mean, it is because he's basically a guy in a mask and armor. Similar to the movie I know.. However there's a difference; all those awesome tricks and stunts are "very" unlikable to ever happen in real life. (The one you on occation enter, when you need some food, or to empty your bladder). So (!!!#3#!!!) tip(S) for you little boy; don't do drugs, stay home and read, and don't do anything ever, cuz batman are nowhere to be seen. Yet. :OOOO!!!!

P.S I will not rock out with a flamethrower outside your house and your dads car.. dnt worry. :)

Bye boy.

reply

wait what are you even trying to say LOL. ur post made me laugh, because i can't believe the lack of coherence in your message. what the hell does this have to do with batman?

P.S: Thank you for not throwing a flamethrower outside my house and my dads car. But your incoherence sentences are far more deadly than a flamethrower. Mentally, deadly, that is. :D

reply

You tarded, bro? It's ok if you are. My first wife was tarded... She's a pilot now.

reply

The amount of stupid in your post is amazing. I think you just made the best case not to party I've ever seen.

reply

I just need reiterate what the previous two posters said and express how utterly moronic this post is. I haven't laughed this hard in ages. Thank you.

Lmao.

I personally hated my community in high school and left immediately post graduation. I can totally see teens saying F the middle aged squares, let it burn.

reply

If that's so, those teens shouldn't sleep under the roof/eat the food/put on clothes that those squared middle aged people they so much despise give them.

reply

well legally what is the alternative? minors are forced to be in some sort of custody. it is nobody's fault if they are born into situations they hate. honestly, i can't understand anyone who is not into some form of rebellion as a teenager. the world is full of hypocrisy and outright fakery. nowhere is this more obvious than in the suburbs. anybody who isn't angered by this at least a little bit is probably lobotomized.

What's wrong with reading?
Jeez... Most teens have no brain nowadays, now I see why.

And no, I'm not some 50 y.o. preacher, I'm 22 and I had my 'wild days' in college, crazy parties, nakedness and drugs included. Heck, I even used to go to classes bringing a diet coke bottle filled w/half soda, half whiskey. I may regret about some of my /drunk/ behaviour in teen days but I sure never thought it's either partying or reading. See, there's no need to pick one of the extremes. Partying from time to time and getting wasted, having fun, etc. is great, everyone needs such experience in their lives but no reading doesn't challenge your brain. What's reading have to do w/the topic, anyways? What you're basically saying is that someone who's well-read, educated and clever, just can't have fun and party. Now, that's a great thesis. Got some arguments to prove it?
Not everyone who enjoys partying is a brainless dumbass. Not everyone who prefers to spend their free time in a different way, is an ugly loser/nerd/outcast etc. Labelling people, way to go...

Good on you sidonator, I'm a few years older than you, but I'm glad to see some teenagers still have a good head on their shoulders.

reply

Well if you've been to parties of a similar but more realistic caliber as depicted in the film you should know that the person hosting the party has very little control over it once the guest count exceeds a certain number, and the composition of that count starts to become that of strangers. Run on sentence but hopefully you understand what I mean.

Basically like I've hosted parties before when I was in high school in my basement and there were times when there would be way more people than I wanted and I couldn't tell them to leave. I did my best to control noise etc. but *beep* would break, and *beep* would spill. It's unavoidable and if an individual decides to throw a party they have to be ready for the responsibility and negative consequences that may ensue.

reply

true true but strangely ive been in parties which are usually chill, not like wild as depicted in this one. I agree the host should be responsible for any negative consequences but that still doesn't stray from the fact that you can have a good time without going all wild. Maybe im the type of guy who prefers chill parties idk.

reply

It depends from the person. I'm 21 and for me, I would like to drink hard and have a good time with a chick in the party although not to the extent in Project X. On the other hand, I have friends who likes to go out to a side of the party and chill with probably some weed and they don't like to go wild nor being disturbed. Of course, there are geeks who never goes to a party at all too.

reply

The movie was not realistic, the movie lacked morale fibre. The question is: should movies be realistic, should they have moral fibre?

reply

It was far from realistic. If a party that size would've got THAT out of control, in East Los Angeles(Pasadena's just a few miles north), you just KNOW rival gangs will show up, someone's gonna get shot, especially during the riot, numerous people are going to get killed via stampede. Hell, there might even be multiple rapes(and not date rape, actually, "Girl screaming and clawing at her attacker" rape). Hell, it happens at large concert festivals and parties all the time. That's realism. I actually thought it would've been ballsy(and certainly would've gotten more respect from me) if they actually showed that. It's far more realistic than flame-thrower guy showing up, and realism's far more darker. Hell, Costa being stabbed by a gang member, the fat guy breaking his back and being paralyzed from the waste down, the main guy(who's throwing the party) getting in more trouble and Kirby NOT taking him back, and the camera man getting trampled to death during the commotion... THAT would've been an interesting ending.

reply

sidonator, I hope you won't take offence, but I don't believe you're a teenager at all. You're someone older who is trying to buy him/herself youth creds so that he won't get dissed as just too old to get it, etc. I know what you're trying to say, and I know that there are concerns from the older generation concerning the message movies like this send to younger, impressionable children and teens. But just saying you're a teen and you don't like this - I am not saying that no teens share your opinion, I am sure some do - doesn't make you one and doesn't convince others that you are one. I think you're older because of the overall perception I get from your arguments. If you really are a teenager, then I'm sorry for doubting you but there is no way any of us can prove we are who we say we are. If I tell everyone here that I am a 71-year old grandfather who loved this movie, why would you believe me? Maybe I'm a 30-year old female school teacher or a 20 year-old surfer. You make it more or less central to your argument when at best it should be only a non-crucial bit of interest.

Since no one here is vetted as to age, you should make a case for liking or not liking a movie only on the merits and not on who you are. That carries no weight in this venue.

i criticize some aspects of the movie but the OP is probably one of those people who goes to a party and spends the night playing with the dog of the house.

when i was in high school i would've loved to go to a party like this, although the movie was far from being realistic i know, but still this movie is more like a teenage fantasy than "encouraging" teenagers to act this way.
