Another Question

Sinbad (I think it's sinbad, but I don't know anything anymore after watching this) goes into the volcano to get The Stones, or whatever... what the hell is in there? And why does he tell the girl to blow up the volcano? And how did he get out? And why is the father dying when they get back? Were they his stones in the volcano? Was he the bad CGI monster in the volcano? Did he get so confused by this movie that he had an aneurysm?

And can some answer the other post about the stones making a steam powered hot air balloon? Because I am so lost about that, too. People didn't have hot air balloons before they discovered magic stones in a volcano?
