The twist looks obvious. *Spoiler*

I know NOTHING about this movie save for the Trailer I just saw. I've read no articles, threads or reviews.

But based on that alone I'll bet that Violet and Daisy are actually (aspects of) the same mentally damaged person.

Plus I'd guess that Gandolfini has deliberately hired her to kill him as a form of radical therapy (to unlock repressed memories, etc...) to slowly bring her to this realisation and heal herself.

Therefore odds on he's really her dad (but she's blanked him out).

What an excellent high concept premis.

So I really wish that clever script writers didn't have their carefully constructed plot twists leaked in advance by dumb Trailer makers. It happens a lot and it must drive them up the wall.

Hell I didn't even know this film HAD a twist but the Trailer blatently telegraphs it.

Incidently, I hope they don't run it that Gandolfini sexually abused her as a child (which she's buried and sent her schitzoid) and that he's now such a guilt ridden parent that he's arranged to "sacrifice" himself to her in the form of a hit in order to restore her mental health.

Don't get me wrong - that's a cogent enough angle - but I'm just tired of writers using "sexual abuse" as a blanket trauma for all ills.

PSS: Obviously if I'm wrong about this I'm going be eating acres of humble pie.

If only you could see what I have seen with your eyes.

I think you are rght too but Im kinda glad they did that this time. I wouldn't want to see a thing about those two girls being assassins because it doesn't seem like a real world thing at all. Especially the way it was filmed you wouldn't take it seriuosly like Leon. It wasn't until I saw the twist in the trailer that I became much more interested in this film.

The fact it seems like a manifestation of someones mind actually makes me want to see this now. It is an interesting premise, but done better than Sucker Punch.

I literally have just made a thread about the same idea. Didn't see this. I guess it appears that way to a few people then.

I hope you have the opportunity to go see it.

You're wrong. There's no twist. There's really nothing interesting about this movie at all.

I saw it last night, and you're wrong on all counts, I'm afraid. The script was actually less "twisty" and more interesting than the trailer implies. No story can ever be completely devoid of cliche, and this one has some, but overall I was kind of impressed with how original it actually is.

So was is the ending?

Never trust trailers. They are often designed to misdirect.
So no, Daisy is not the daughter, though the daughter, a completely different person, does figure prominently.
Gandofini's daughter is "April" and if you go to the V&D main board, you'll see she's played by Tatiana Maslany. She has two scenes.

lol well maybe next time you'll wait to see the movie to construct crazy theories about it.
